My Path to Nutritional Therapy

My love for the human body started early. In seventh grade science class, we were studying the cardiovascular system, tracing how blood flows through the heart. Something about the intricate design hooked me. From that moment on, I wanted to know: What does the body truly need to function well—and how do we support it?

At first, that curiosity led me into movement. I was drawn to calisthenics, strength training, gymnastics, CrossFit, and indoor rock climbing—anything that challenged me and showed me what my body was capable of. But I eventually learned there’s a fine line between pushing yourself and pushing too far. For me, that line was crossed when I fell into orthorexic patterns, with overexercising, under eating, and chasing an appearance that cost me my period, disrupted my nervous system, and pulled me away from a balanced life.

When I sought help from my gynecologist, I expected curiosity—lab tests, insight, answers. Instead, I was offered the birth control pill without any real assessment. I didn’t want a pill. I wanted understanding. That experience planted a seed. It didn’t all click right away, but it set me on a different path. Over time, I realized my body wasn’t “broken.” It was doing exactly what it had to with the resources I gave it. No pill could fix that.

That turning point reinforced a belief I carry into my work today:
